
Sync is a digital well-being initiative that aims to raise awareness through translating research-based understanding of the amplification of technology on our lives into audience friendly materials and tools, with a vision to create a world where we are all in control of our digital lives.
Q1 2025: Released the 2024 Global Digital Wellbeing Index (DWI) to look at how digital technology influences behavior and quality of life around the world and whether governments and individuals are equipped to get the best out of technology.
Q1 2025: Released the second edition Digital Welling Global Survey, completed by over 35,000 adults. This extensive study, the largest of its kind, was inspired by one of the most challenging issues of our time: how to reap the benefits of the information age while simultaneously promoting health, safety, social cohesion and more. This two-way balancing act – optimizing the benefits of technology while reducing harms – is at the heart of digital wellbeing
Q1 2025: Released a gaming disorder report, International Comparison of Gaming Disorder Symptomatology, as a publication in Computers in Human Behavior.
Q1 2025: Released a socio-demographic report, Socio-Demographic And Attitudinal Correlates Of Problematic Social Media Use
Q1 2025: Established a student internship program with 12 interns from IIT, University of Dhaka
May 2025: Sync will be participating and contributing as a speaker at the upcoming World Health Assembly in Geneva
Feb 2024: Sync joined the Inspired Internet Pledge as an Advisor.
Jun 2024: Hosted the Sync Digital Wellbeing Summit 2024 in collaboration with 14 partners, including the Digital Wellness Lab. The summit welcomed more than 80 speakers, more than 13,000 in-person attendees from 28 countries, had nearly 30,000 live stream views, and more than 400 million social media impressions for the summit campaigns. Sync will carry the momentum forward and plan to develop a white paper summary with outcomes and discussions.
