The Family Online Safety Institute is an international, non-profit organization which works to make the online world safer for kids and their families. FOSI convenes leaders in industry, government and the non-profit sectors to collaborate and innovate new solutions and policies in the field of online safety. Through research, resources, events and special projects, FOSI promotes a culture of responsibility online and encourages a sense of digital citizenship for all.
Apr 2024: The Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI) joined the Inspired Internet Pledge as an Advisor.
Jul 2024: Kicked off a research project about digital life and wellbeing. The project will gather parent and teen perspectives about how the digital world affects (both negatively and positively) their individual and familial wellbeing. The results of the research will be unveiled and discussed at the 2024 FOSI Annual Conference on December 9, 2024
Sep 2024: Hosting a webinar about youth mental health during the back-to-school season. This webinar will incorporate the perspectives of experts in the space and youth themselves.
Dec 9, 2024: The 2024 FOSI Annual Conference will take place in-person in Washington, DC. The conference will convene the preeminent thought leaders and experts from around the world for high-level discussion and debate on the most pressing online safety topics of the year. The title of this year’s conference is “From Protection to Empowerment”.
