Scroll By Choice was founded to explore the emerging opportunity of helping people coexist and thrive alongside the rapidly evolving AI-based immersive technologies. Live, cohort based workshops teach individuals how to apply Scroll By Choice’s Digital Wellness framework in combination with insights about their digital footprints to regain control over their digital choices.

Mar 2024: Scroll By Choice joined the Inspired Internet Pledge as an Advisor.

Our team at Scroll By Choice has been busy with delivering solutions that prepare youth and adults to thrive alongside technology. In a practical sense, here’s what we’re doing and what we’re learning:

May 2024: Hosted a webinar on the topic of addressing digital habits of parents/caregivers. Through structured workshops like this, Scroll by Choice is taking parents and adults through reflection exercises about how they interact with devices. While it may not be social media per se, ‘work-related’ or ‘entertainment-related’ items often float to the top. Habit changes are of course a journey and we’re seeing greater engagement and willingness — especially when Scroll by Choice is  able to partner with employers.

Spring 2024: Took 3-sided framework to explore topics of digital agency with late elementary and middle school students. Kids this age were ready and willing to learn about ‘grown-up’ topics such as how Mr. Beast’s channel on YouTube makes money (i.e. ad-based attention economy). Learned that the intervention periods for this age needs to be greater than the current model of 3-weeks; planning to run a 12-week curriculum this Fall.

Aug 14, 2024: Hosting a LinkedIn live Parent Special on the topic of modeling positive digital habits to address the learning that despite apps/timers/restriction-based apps, parents are craving more personalized coaching and support — they are absolutely looking for more established academic institutions to provide definitive guidance vs. the squishy stuff they receive from books. The event is free for attendees. Information and registration information is here.
